Toon in training: Magpies out to earn their Spurs

Just a couple of days on from their win over Everton, Newcastle United were back out on the grass at their Benton training base as Sunday's trip to Tottenham Hotspur draws closer.

United head to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (4:30pm kick-off) hoping to continue their fine recent form and hold on to their place in the Premier League's top six.

Miguel Almirón's terrific strike saw off the Toffees at St. James' Park on Wednesday night, meaning the Magpies come into this weekend's clash with the division's best defensive record and just one defeat against their name this term.

And Eddie Howe put his charges through their paces on Friday morning as his side get set to take on a Spurs outfit who currently sit in third place, just five points ahead of Newcastle.

Club photographer Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk this gallery from United's Friday training session.
