Toon in training: Magpies back from winter break and ready for Gunners

Joelinton and Yoshinori Muto both trained as Newcastle United prepared for Sunday's Premier League trip to Arsenal this week.

Steve Bruce's players returned from their winter break on Tuesday and continued their work on the training pitch on Wednesday. Joelinton suffered a rib injury at Oxford United in Newcastle's last game, while fellow forward Muto hasn't played since he was hurt at Rochdale early last month, but both looked sharp as they looked to catch the head coach's eye for the Gunners game.

Miguel Almirón also came off at the Kassam Stadium last week but showed no ill-effects following a few days of rest and relaxation, while new boys Danny Rose and Valentino Lazaro are pushing for full debuts after both came off the bench against Norwich in United's previous league outing and young Tom Allan continues to be regularly involved with the first team, having notched again for Ben Dawson's under-23s at West Brom on Monday.

Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk this gallery from Newcastle's Benton training ground.
