Toon in training: London calling

With Sunday's Premier League trip to West Ham fast approaching, Newcastle United's first team squad were out on the grass at the Magpies' training base on Wednesday.

United head to the London Stadium this weekend (2pm kick-off), hoping to record what would be a second league win of the campaign so far after the disappointment of last weekend's controversial goalless draw at home to Crystal Palace.

The Hammers, meanwhile, had reason to feel aggrieved themselves after their 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday and are also seeking a second win of 2022/23, with David Moyes' men currently three points behind the Magpies in the table.

Head coach Eddie Howe put his charges through their paces at Benton in midweek, with Alexander Isak, Joe Willock - who was at the centre of the game's most debatable moment against Palace at St. James' Park last time out - and Kieran Trippier all in action as Howe plots a victory in the capital.

Club photographer Serena Taylor was there to bring nufc.co.uk this gallery.
