Toon in training: Lejeune continues to make progress ahead of Huddersfield trip
Florian Lejeune made his return from injury as Newcastle's under-23s beat Norwich on Monday and, having come through that game unscathed, has trained ahead of Saturday's Premier League trip to Huddersfield.
The defender suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury at the end of July but played for the opening 45 minutes against the Canaries' second-string in front of the watching Rafa Benítez.
And with DeAndre Yedlin suspended and Federico Fernández an injury concern for the weekend after a calf problem sustained against Wolves, Lejeune's continued progress is a boost for the Magpies manager. Jonjo Shelvey is also a doubt for the game at the John Smith's Stadium.
