Toon in training: Friday in China

Newcastle United trained in Shanghai on Friday morning ahead of their second and final Premier League Asia Trophy outing against West Ham on Saturday (kick-off 10am BST/5pm CST).

The Magpies face Manuel Pellegrini’s men – who were beaten 4-1 by Manchester City in their opening fixture at the tournament on Wednesday – at the Hongkou Stadium looking to secure a first win of pre-season.

And, alongside defender Paul Dummett, new head coach Steve Bruce addressed the media for the first time since his appointment at a press conference on Friday.

Goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka, who missed the midweek defeat to Wolves, was among those training as Bruce gets to know the players at his disposal on the pitch.

And midfielder Sean Longstaff also trained, as he continues to work towards a return from the knee injury he suffered against the Hammers in March.

Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk this gallery.
