Some of Newcastle United's squad members were still returning from international duty, while Eddie Howe is also assessing the fitness of a handful of players, but preparations are well under way for Saturday's Premier League trip to Fulham.

The newly-promoted Cottagers have made a decent start to life back in the top flight, while Newcastle have lost just once all season but have also failed to win since they overcame Nottingham Forest on the opening day of the campaign.

Kieran Trippier, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff and Matt Targett were among the players involved in Wednesday's training session, while youngsters Joe White, Jay Turner-Cooke and Jude Smith also took part.
