Jonjo Shelvey was back in training on Thursday as Newcastle United trained ahead of Saturday's home game against Chelsea.
The midfielder hasn't played since last month's visit of Manchester United after undergoing surgery on a hernia problem, but following the international break he has been able to resume training this week.
Matt Ritchie has also been back on the training pitch over the last few days - he suffered an acromioclavicular joint injury against Tottenham in September - while the likes of Jeff Hendrick, Fabian Schär and Emil Krafth have returned unscathed from international duty.
