Following two wins in succession, Newcastle United's players were in good spirits ahead of the weekend's Premier League visit of Sheffield United when they trained on Thursday.
Allan Saint-Maximin was celebrating his 23rd birthday and he was in the thick of the action on a windy morning at the Magpies' Benton base.
The Frenchman was on target in Saturday's victory at Southampton - and scored his first Newcastle United goal in December's 2-0 win at Bramall Lane. Jonjo Shelvey, who got the other goal that night, was also training ahead of the return game. He signed a new contract at St. James' Park last week, along with Matt Ritchie, while Federico Fernández has also extended his stay with the Magpies after the club exercised a one-year option on his contract.
