Nabil Bentaleb trained with his new team mates for the first time on Thursday, and could make his debut in Saturday's FA Cup fourth round tie against Oxford United.
The Algeria international had previously trained on his own following his loan move from Schalke 04 - United were in action at Everton on Tuesday night and the players were given a rare day off on Wednesday - but joined in with the group when they reported back to their Benton base on Thursday.
He previously played with DeAndre Yedlin - who also took part in training after recovering from injury - at Tottenham Hotspur, while he wasted no time in making an impression on the rest of the group during some passing and shooting drills.
Bentaleb will wear number 42 at St. James' Park. Also training was Allan Saint-Maximin, who wasn't risked at Goodison Park in midweek after playing 90 minutes on his return from injury against Chelsea, while Karl Darlow will hope for another opportunity in goal at the weekend after a solid showing in United's third round replay win over Rochdale.
