Toon in training: Another bite at the Cherries

Newcastle United head to AFC Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon looking to do the double over the Cherries, after a 2-1 win at St. James’ Park in the reverse fixture in November 2018.

Buoyed by last weekend’s stunning 3-2 comeback victory over Everton, Rafa Benítez and his side have been back out on the training pitch this week as they prepare to face Eddie Howe’s men, who have won just one of their last six Premier League games.

Benítez’s charges have three victories from their last four outings, and have been boosted by the recent return of midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, who starred after coming on as a substitute in that memorable win over the Toffees.

He was among the players being put through their paces on Wednesday – and Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk this gallery from the Magpies’ Benton training base.
