Eddie Howe's men head to Merseyside boasting a decent record on New Year's Day, having taken 18 points from their ten games on that date, but they will face an in-form Reds side who haven't tasted defeat in the Premier League since September.

After a tricky festive period, the Magpies' players were hard at work on Friday morning in preparation for the game against Jürgen Klopp's table-toppers, while head coach Howe also spoke to the media ahead of the game as United look to get the new year started with a victory.
