Rafa Benítez and his first team squad flew out to warmer climes on Thursday, beginning a four-day training camp in Spain.
The Magpies are facing an enforced three-week break in Premier League fixtures and Benítez is keen to keep the players sharp and maintain momentum following Saturday's superb 3-0 against Southampton.
No time was wasted on the group's first day on the continent and the players were quickly out on the training pitch, where the hard work continued.
