Southampton win in pictures

Newcastle United beat Southampton at St. James' Park on Saturday - despite having only nine men for the final 12 minutes plus stoppage time.

The Magpies had already lost Callum Wilson and Javier Manquillo to injury in the first half before Jeff Hendrick was sent off in the 49th minute with Steve Bruce's side leading 3-2.

Then - with no substitutes left - Fabian Schär was stretchered off with what has since been confirmed as a torn knee ligament, but United's remaining players put in a heroic display to claim the three points.

Debutant Joe Willock had given Newcastle the lead and Miguel Almirón scored twice, and Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk this galley.
