Goals from Cal Roberts and Elias Sørensen gave Newcastle United two wins out of two in the Checkatrade Trophy.
Having beaten League One promotion challengers Doncaster Rovers 3-1 last month, the young Magpies were 2-0 winners at in-form League Two side Notts County on Tuesday night.
Roberts gave them an early lead from the penalty spot and Danish teenager Sørensen finished off a swift counter-attack to double the advantage in the second half.
