Newcastle 3 Birmingham 1

The 34,896 supporters who flocked to St. James' Park on Wednesday night were treated to an entertaining Emirates FA Cup third round replay.

Rafa Benitez gave debuts to three youngsters - Daniel Barlaser, Yasin Ben El-Mhanni and Stuart Findlay - and handed Jonjo Shelvey the captain's armband on his return from a five-match ban.

And the midfielder was involved in all three goals as Matt Ritchie scored twice (once from the penalty spot) and Yoan Gouffran marked his 100th start for the club with a lovely strike.

Newcastle will now travel to Oxford United in the fourth round. Club Photographer Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk this gallery from the match.
