Manchester United win in pictures

Newcastle United beat Manchester United at St. James' Park on Saturday to make it six straight home wins in the league, and continue their near-perfect home record in domestic competitions.

Aside from their loss to Liverpool, the Magpies have won every game at Gallowgate in the top flight and the Carabao Cup - and the weekend win against the Red Devils was their third successive victory over Erik ten Hag's side since last season's Carabao Cup final.

It took Eddie Howe's men up to fifth in the Premier League, with Anthony Gordon scoring the only goal in the second half - but Newcastle had other opportunities to make the scoreline more emphatic, with Kieran Trippier hitting the bar with a free kick and Miguel Almirón and Joelinton testing visiting goalkeeper André Onana.

Sadly for Newcastle, Nick Pope suffered a shoulder injury late on and now joins Howe's length list of absentees, but the goalkeeper was able to take his place in yet another winning team photograph in the home dressing room at St. James' Park.

Club photographer Serena Taylor, assisted by Michelle Mercer, brought nufc.co.uk this gallery.
