Magpies' Women's FA Cup clash with Manchester United in pictures

Newcastle United's interest in the Adobe Women's FA Cup came to an end on Sunday as Becky Langley's side were beaten 5-0 at Manchester United.

The Barclays Women's Super League side ran out comfortable winners at Leigh Sports Village having fielded a strong team, which included the Lionesses' European Championship winners Mary Earps and Ella Toone.

Toone's thumping effort broke the deadlock before Nikita Parris' brace and goals from Rachel Williams and Melvine Malard added extra gloss to the scoreline - but this was still a day to remember for those in black and white.

Backed by over 1,000 travelling supporters, the tie gave United a chance to go head-to-head with last season's finalists and showcase the progress they have made in the past few years - as well as get some first-hand experience of the standard they hope to reach in the coming years.

Serena Taylor was there to bring nufc.co.uk this gallery.
