Magpies stars attend Premier Skills Cup event in Nanjing

Ki Sung-yueng, Jonjo Shelvey, Freddie Woodman and Bob Moncur visited a Premier Skills Cup event on Wednesday, as part of Newcastle United's tour of China

The trio of current players and Fairs Cup-winning skipper Moncur joined Newcastle United Foundation coaches Tony Wigham and Lisa Bell at the under-12s mixed tournament held at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

They met youngsters from Nanjing and Shanghai who were taking part in the competition, passing on advice and posing for photographs as well as signing autographs.

The Premier League Asia Trophy is part of the league's ongoing commitment to fans in Asia, and to supporting the development of football at all levels in China.

As part of this, the Premier Skills programme has reached more than one million young people and trained more than 5,000 coaches and referees in 23 cities across China since 2007.

Also attending the event were Richard Masters, the Premier League's Interim Chief Executive and Premier League match officials including Martin Atkinson and Craig Pawson - plus United's club photographer Serena Taylor, who brought nufc.co.uk this gallery.
