Magpies' FA Cup win at Sunderland in pictures

It was a day to remember for Newcastle United fans, who had waited almost 13 years to see their side come out on top in a Tyne-Wear derby.

An own goal from Dan Ballard and an Alexander Isak brace handed Eddie Howe's side a comfortable 3-0 win at the Stadium of Light in Saturday's FA Cup third round clash, ending that long wait for a victory over their local rivals which stretched back to 2011, when Ryan Taylor's free kick saw off the Black Cats on Wearside.

Former Newcastle favourite Taylor was among those in attendance at the weekend as United eased through to the fourth round of the competition amid jubilant scenes both on the pitch and in the away end, where 6,000 travelling supporters revelled in the victory - and became part of the team's traditional team photo after the win, which took place on the pitch in front of them.

Serena Taylor, assisted by Harriet Massey, were there to bring nufc.co.uk this gallery - and you can view more fan photos from the away end here.
