Goals from Salomón Rondón and Ayoze Pérez gave Newcastle United a valuable win against Huddersfield Town, as Miguel Almirón enjoyed a sparkling home debut.
Huddersfield were reduced to ten men in the 20th minute when captain Tommy Smith was sent off for a reckless challenge on Almirón, who had already hit a post for the Magpies.
Rondón broke the deadlock early in the second half and when Pérez quickly added a second, the result never looked in doubt with Kenedy and Sean Longstaff both hitting the woodwork and visiting keeper Jonas Lössl making several good saves.
It was a third home win in a row for United and Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk this gallery.
