Newcastle United picked up their second victory of pre-season in Edinburgh on Tuesday night, with record signing Joelinton among the scorers in the Magpies’ 3-1 victory at Hibernian.
United fell behind at Easter Road but the Brazilian frontman’s first goal for the club drew them level, before midfielder Sean Longstaff gave them the lead before the break.
Skipper Jamaal Lascelles made sure of the win with his side’s third in the second half as Steve Bruce’s men saw off the challenge of the Scottish Premiership outfit.
And United will now entertain Saint-Étienne at St. James’ Park in their final pre-season fixture ahead of their Premier League opener against Arsenal on Sunday, 11th August.
