Ameobi, Given and Eales meet fans in Philly

Newcastle United legends Shola Ameobi and Shay Given, and CEO Darren Eales, met more than 200 Magpies supporters in Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon, ahead of the Premier League Summer Series clash with Aston Villa.

The duo who made more than 800 appearances for Newcastle between them were joined by the CEO and members of the club's Supporter Services team at Cavanaugh's Headhouse in the centre of Pennsylvania's largest city.

As well as meeting fans, signing autographs and posing for photos, all three also took part in a fascinating question and answer session - with Given and Ameobi touching on their shared memories of playing under Sir Bobby Robson and representing United in the Champions League and Eales outlining the new vision and ambitions at St. James' Park.

The club has held a number of similar supporter events in recent months, from Riyadh to Atlanta and with more to come, and there will be further activities in Atlanta and New Jersey during the Magpies' stay in the US. Club photographer Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk these pictures from Philadelphia.
