Saint-Maximin's winner at St Mary's (2019/20)
Allan Saint-Maximin's late strike sealed a 1-0 victory for the Magpies against ten-man Southampton in March 2020, the final game Newcastle would play before the season was halted due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Southampton were reduced to ten men in the first-half as Moussa Djnepro's yellow card was upgraded to a red following a VAR review for a foul on Isaac Hayden before Matt Ritchie was denied from the penalty spot before the half-time whistle as the Scotsman's spot-kick was saved by an inspired Alex McCarthy.
It looked as if a stalemate was on the cards until Saint-Maximin broke the deadlock in the closing stages after the Frenchman beat Jan Valery to the ball before calmly tucking a low effort home in front of a jubilant away end.
Hayden's first Premier League goal in four-goal draw (2017/18)
United were pegged back on two occasions as the Magpies were made to settle for a point in an entertaining 2-2 draw.
The visitors led through Isaac Hayden's 25-yard strike, his first in the English top-flight, latching onto Christian Atsu's blocked shot before firing past former Magpie goalkeeper Fraser Forster.
Manolo Gabbiadini levelled the Premier League clash shortly after the restart before Newcastle were back in front 87 seconds later through Ayoze Pérez's finish from a tight angle.
However, United would be pegged back as Gabbiadini equalised once again - this time from the penalty spot - following Florian Lejeune's foul on Shane Long before Lejeune almost made amends for conceding the spot-kick but the defender's header was unfortunately cleared off the line in the dying stages.
Carr's long-range screamer (2004/05)
Stephen Carr was the hero for United as the right-back netted a sensational 35-yard strike to secure a 2-1 win at St. Mary's Stadium.
The game sprung to life on the stroke of half-time as Alan Shearer, who began his senior career at Southampton, saw his shot across goal turned into the net by Saints midfielder David Prutton.
The hosts were back on level terms when Anders Svensson's rebound after the Swede latched onto a loose ball before, four minutes later, Carr regained Newcastle's lead in tremendous style.
After a free kick had been touched into the path of Carr by Jermaine Jenas, the defender took aim from distance before his ferocious long-range effort flew into the left-hand corner - the Irishman's only goal for the Magpies during a four-year spell on Tyneside.
Dyer's double knocks out FA Cup finalists (2003/04)
Newcastle produced a thrilling 3-0 win in the FA Cup as Kieron Dyer's brace, along with Laurent Robert's strike, secured a safe passage into the fourth round for Sir Bobby Robson's side.
Dyer's close range finish sent the visitors in front against the 2003 finalists before Robert doubled the away side's advantage before the half-time whistle.
An impressive result was completed as Dyer scored a fine solo effort, picking the ball up 30 yards from goal and, following a retreating Southampton defence, fired the ball past goalkeeper Antti Niemi.
Ambrose's last minute equaliser in six-goal thriller (2003/04)
Darren Ambrose's stoppage-time leveller secured a dramatic point for the Magpies following an entertaining 3-3 draw against the Saints in the penultimate fixture of their 2003/04 Premier League campaign.
