Magpies youngster Daniel Barlaser has described the experience of representing Turkey twice this week as "unreal."
The 15-year-old - who hails from Newcastle but qualifies for Turkey through his father - was called up for his county's under-16 side after impressing at a training camp last month.
And the former Swalwell Juniors winger, who made his debut for United's under-18s side against Tottenham on the opening day of the season, played in two friendly games against Italy.
On Tuesday, Barlaser came from the bench to make his international debut as the young Turks won 1-0 against the Azzurri in Rodengo Seiano in Brescia. The Newcastle man played for 25 minutes.
Then on Thursday, he started in Iseo, Brescia, as the Italians gained revenge with a 2-1 victory.
Barlaser - who scored his first under-18s goal against Stoke last month - told nufc.co.uk: "It was unreal.
"And the scenery was brilliant where we were staying."
He is due to arrive back on Tyneside on Thursday evening and could be included in the under-18s' squad for their home game against Aston Villa on Saturday (kick-off 11am).
