Liverpool's famous Anfield stadium will be one of several top flight venues to host Newcastle United's second-string in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League this season.

The fixtures for the new campaign were announced on Friday afternoon and will see Willie Donachie and Peter Beardsley's side travel to the Kop next March as part of the league's new format, which sees one national division comprising of 22 Category 1 Academies.

United's youngsters will also be able to look forward to playing at the Hawthorns home of West Bromwich Albion in September, the Stadium of Light in February and Southampton's St. Mary's in April.

A trip to Reading's magnificent Madejski Stadium will open the Magpies' campaign while they will also play at Middlesbrough's Riverside Stadium in August and Blackburn's Ewood Park in March.
