Monday night's Barclays Under-21 Premier League Cup tie at home to Leicester City is on, it has been confirmed

Newcastle United's Barclays Under-21 Premier League Cup tie against Leicester City is on.

With rain forecast on North Tyneside, a precautionary pitch inspection was scheduled for 4pm but it became apparent earlier in the day that there was no real threat to the match.

Monday's match at Whitley Park kicks off at 7pm and admission is £3 for adults and £1 concessions, or free to season ticket holders and Members.

Jonas Gutierrez, Paul Dummett, Gael Bigirimana and Curtis Good are all included in Willie Donachie and Peter Beardsley's squad while defender Remie Streete makes his comeback from injury.

United lost 2-1 at Birmingham in the previous round but were reinstated into the competition after Birmingham withdrew, having fielded an ineligible player, so a quarter-final place is at stake for the winner.
