Tozer Returns To Sixfields

Written by Newcastle Utd

Young defender Ben Tozer heads back to Northampton Town for a second loan spell until early December

By Dan King

Young defender Ben Tozer has returned to Northampton Town on loan after a successful spell at the Sixfields Stadium earlier in the season.

The 20-year-old joined The Cobblers on a temporary basis in September, making his debut in their famous Carling Cup win over Liverpool at Anfield and scoring in his second game for the club.

But in the final game of his month-long spell, he was sent off and hit with a three-match ban which saw him return to Tyneside.

Now, though, he's headed back to the League Two side for a further month, and will stay there until December 4, 2010.

Tozer has played twice for Newcastle's first-team, both games coming last season - against Peterborough in the Carling Cup and as a substitute against Doncaster in the Coca-Cola Championship.
