Under-18s enjoy 6-0 rout at Huddersfield

NEWCASTLE United Under-18s put six past Huddersfield Town on Saturday to extend their unbeaten run to five matches.

Geordie centre-back Jeff Henderson netted twice for Kenny Wharton's youngsters and it was his header that broke the deadlock on 17 minutes.

Brad Inman, having scored twice for Scotland Under-19s during their recent three-game Euro qualifying campaign, continued his rich vein of form in front of goal with a low drive on 33 minutes.

Sammy Ameobi extended the advantage with a header just after half-time, and Greg McDermott fired his second of the season on 62 minutes.

Patrick Nzuzi, fresh from making his reserve-team debut during the week, slotted home from the penalty spot soon after and Henderson completed the rout with a close-range volley in injury time.

NUFC: Alnwick, Nzuzi, Ferguson, McDermott (L.Henderson 73), James Taylor (Folan 73), J.Henderson, Adjei (D.Taylor 21), Inman, Ameobi, Newton, McCrudden
