Tiote Back In Toon

Written by Newcastle Utd

Ivorian enforcer Cheik Tiote is back in Newcastle having returned from Ghana following a routine visa process

Newcastle United midfielder Cheik Tiote has arrived back into Newcastle today ahead of Saturday's opening Barclay's Premier League clash with Arsenal at St. James' Park.

Tiote, who scored the dramatic equaliser in last February's epic 4-4 draw, returns from Ghana after a routine visa application was processed.

Manager Alan Pardew said: "It's great that Cheik is back with us as we continue the build up to the weekend. He's missed a little time with the rest of the players after our pre-season tour of the States, but one of our physios, Derek Wright, has been with Cheik and has been working him extremely hard. In any event he's a naturally very fit lad and I've no doubt he'll be at the top of his game come Saturday."
