The Final Leg Of Tann's Tour

A professional footballer will complete a gruelling seven-day charity challenge by pedalling up to St. James' Park shortly before kick-off on Sunday.

Adam Tann, who has played for Notts County, Leyton Orient and Cambridge United among others, was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2006 but returned to action following a successful operation.

Now, together with friend Daniel Huggins, 31-year-old Tann has jumped on his bike to cycle to all 20 Premier League football grounds in just seven days, hoping to raise £10,000 for various cancer charities, with Orchid Cancer the main beneficiary.

The pair's challenge, called The Two Wheel Testicle Tour, began last Sunday at Norwich City's Carrow Road stadium.

And, having navigated their way around the country, from Swansea to Stoke and Arsenal to Aston Villa, they will complete the 850-mile trek on Tyneside in time for kick-off against the Gunners.

Adam said: "We knew this would be a huge challenge even for the most experienced cyclist, let alone for two individuals who didn't even own a bike prior to deciding to take up the challenge.

"We felt this challenge would not only test our physical strength and resilience but also our mental capacity and resolve.

"It will have pushed us to our personal limits but hopefully highlighting the importance of cancer research in equal measure."
