Turkey's teenagers kick off their La Manga Tournament campaign against Sweden on Wednesday, with Newcastle's Daniel Barlaser part of the squad.

Born in Gateshead but of Turkish descent, the 17-year-old winger is the only English-based player in the party and flew to Turkey on Sunday, after helping United's under-18s beat Stoke on Saturday.

Hakan Tecimer's squad then flew into La Manga on Monday morning for the four-team under-17 competition.

After taking on Sweden, Turkey will play Norway on Friday and Slovakia on Sunday, with the final taking place on Tuesday, 11th February.

Meanwhile, Kyle Cameron has been called up by Scotland for a friendly against Serbia on Tuesday, 11th February at Rugby Park, Kilmarnock.

The left-footed defender has previously been capped by England at under-16 level.

Young forward Alex Gilliead is on standby for England's under-18 game against Belgium at St. George's Park on Tuesday, 18th February.
