Neil Swarbrick will take charge of Newcastle's trip to Crystal Palace in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday

Neil Swarbrick will take charge of Newcastle United's trip to Crystal Palace in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
It is the second time this season the Lancashire-based official has refereed a Magpies' match, having been the man in the middle of October's Capital One Cup fourth round extra-time defeat against Manchester City.
On that evening, Swarbrick booked five players including Cheick Tiote, Mathieu Debuchy and Yohan Cabaye.
In total during the 2013/14 campaign, he has overseen 12 games across the Premier League, Championship and Capital One Cup, issuing 37 yellow cards, one red card and awarding one penalty.
The 43-year-old whistler only took up refereeing at the age of 29, but within six years was promoted to the national list of assistant referees, and four years later was added to the referees list.
Swarbrick's first Premier League appointment came in December 2010, when he was the man in the middle of a goalless draw between Fulham and Sunderland.
On Saturday at Selhurst Park, Swarbrick will be assisted by Simon Long and Scott Ledger, with Chris Foy the game's fourth official.
