Streete Signs For Vale

Defender Remie Streete has agreed a two-year deal with League One side Port Vale after leaving Newcastle United

Remie Streete has agreed a two-year deal with Port Vale following his release from Newcastle United.

The 20-year-old defender never made a competitive appearance for the Magpies, but impressed during a loan spell with the Valiants last season.

He made three appearances for the League One side before being recalled by Newcastle as cover following an injury crisis at St. James' Park.

The Little Benton Academy product, who was born in Aylesbury but grew up in South Shields, was then loaned to Rangers in February but played only once after limping off on his debut.

Port Vale boss Rob Page told his club's official website: "We're really pleased to have signed up Remie. He's a very good player with a lot of potential - something we saw when he was last with us.

"We were very impressed when he was last with us and we made him one of our top summer targets so to have him in the building is brilliant."
