Streete Recalled From Loan

Remie Streete has been recalled from his loan spell with League One side Port Vale

Remie Streete has been recalled from his loan spell with League One side Port Vale.

Last week the 20-year-old, who has made three appearances for the Valiants, agreed to extend his stay at Vale Park until 4th January.

But, following injuries to Steven Taylor and Fabricio Coloccini, Alan Pardew has brought the promising central defender back to Tyneside as cover.

Taylor missed last Sunday's win at West Bromwich Albion but, after the game, Pardew told nufcTV that he should be fit to face Queens Park Rangers in the Magpies' next Barclays Premier League game.

On captain Coloccini - who limped off at The Hawthorns having scored United's second goal - the manager added: "It's a shame we lost him to injury. We're a little bit concerned about that.

"It's just a calf injury - not too serious, we don't think."
