St. James' On Saturday For Second-String

Written by Newcastle Utd

Newcastle's opening Barclays Under-21 Premier League home game of the season is at St. James' Park against Wolves on Saturday afternoon

By Dan King - Newcastle United Digital Editor

Willie Donachie and Peter Beardsley's under-21 side are in action on Saturday afternoon, with St. James' Park the venue as they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It's a traditional 3pm kick-off at Gallowgate and admission is free to season ticket holders and Members or £3 for adults and £1 concessions.

Last season, Newcastle's second-string played at St. James' twice and there were four goals in each game - a 2-2 derby draw with Sunderland and a 4-0 win over Crystal Palace.

And there were six goals in United's opening Barclays Under-21 Premier League game of the current campaign as the Magpies lost 4-2 at Reading with Gael Bigirimana and Adam Armstrong on target for Newcastle.

The East Stand turnstiles will be open for the match and food and drink on sale, so why not come along to watch the stars of tomorrow?
