Spurs Selected For Sky

Written by Newcastle Utd

Newcastle's away game against Tottenham Hotspur will be screened live on Sky Sports, meaning a change of kick-off time

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

One Newcastle United fixture is included in the latest round of Barclays Premier League fixture selected for live broadcast.

The appetising clash at Tottenham Hotspur in February will be screened by Sky Sports, meaning a new kick-off time but an unchanged date.

Alan Pardew's side will now take on Spurs at White Hart Lane at 12.45pm on Saturday, 9th February instead of the original 3pm.

However, there is a potential alteration - the game could be moved to Sunday, 10th February at 4pm in the event that the Manchester United v Everton match has to revert to 9th February at 12.45pm. That is dependant on whether the Red Devils are playing in the Champions League the following Tuesday.

And the viewers could be in for a treat - since the Magpies came back into the top flight in 2010/11, there have been 16 goals in the five meetings between the two sides.

But the five which came in this fixture last season were all scored by the North London outfit as Newcastle slumped to their heaviest defeat of the campaign.

Meanwhile, it has been agreed that the kick-off time for all matches on the final day of the season will be 4pm.
