Sorensen Set For Magpies Bow

Written by Newcastle Utd

Danish teenager Elias Fritjof Sorensen could make his debut for Newcastle's under-18s at Derby on Saturday afternoon

By Dan King - Newcastle United Managing Editor

Danish teenager Elias Fritjof Sorensen could make his first appearance for Newcastle United when Dave Watson's under-18s travel to Derby on Saturday.

International clearance has now been received for the forward ahead of the 12.30pm kick-off at the Rams' Moor Farm Academy.

But Watson may resist the temptation to make too many changes to the side which beat Wolves last weekend.

United are top of the Under-18 Premier League with four victories and a draw from their opening five games, while Derby have won twice so far and sit in ninth.

Callum Smith trained with Rafa Benitez's first team on Friday and is also named in the squad, while England under-17 international Mackenzie Heaney will be looking to continue his strong start to the campaign.
