Shearer And Barclays Coming To The Metrocentre

Written by Newcastle Utd

Barclays and Alan Shearer will be saying thank you to Magpies fans by giving them the chance to win tickets for Christmas

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer will be at the Metrocentre on Wednesday with Barclays to reward the most dedicated fans this Christmas, and those in the community that work hard helping others follow their football passions.

Barclays, title sponsor of the Barclays Premier League, is launching a new Twitter ticket competition to say thank you to those who make football what it is across the UK. Over the course of the season it will give away thousands of tickets.

And Shearer, the Magpies' record goalscorer will be at a special Barclays zone from 10.30am-2pm, which features a large interactive Twitter wall and a Thank You Squad, who will track down Christmas shoppers and offer them the chance to win Barclays Premier League tickets to watch Newcastle United.

As well as winning tickets at the Metrocentre, Newcastle fans can enter online the same day at @BarclaysFooty, by telling Barclays why they should be chosen to win tickets with the hashtag #YouAreFootball, or by visiting www.barclays.co.uk/youarefootball. There will also be plenty of opportunities for Magpies fans to win tickets throughout the season by entering the competition.

Barclays will be looking out for the best #YouAreFootball stories showing dedication to a club, passion for football or hard work to support community football.

For more information, visit www.facebook.com/barclaysfootball and join the conversation to thank fans and community heroes with #YouAreFootball.
