Newcastle will play Bedlington Terriers in the quarter-finals of the Northumberland FA Senior Cup, while the date has been confirmed

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Newcastle United have been drawn against Bedlington Terriers in the quarter-finals of this season's Northumberland FA Senior Cup.

The Magpies will travel to the Dr Pit Welfare Park ground on Tuesday, 27th November for a 7.30pm kick-off as they look to win the trophy for a fifth time in six years.

United met the Terriers at the same stage of the competition two seasons ago, winning 2-0 at Whitley Park, with Ryan Taylor and Sammy Ameobi both involved and Joan Edmundsson and Dennis Knight the goalscorers.

And last season Willie Donachie and Peter Beardsley masterminded a 5-1 victory in the semi-finals. Paul Dummett, Patrick Nzuzi, Alex Nicholson, Phil Airey and Dan Taylor were on target.

Bedlington are currently third in the Northern League First Division and recently added Alan O'Brien to a posse of former Newcastle players.

In the other last eight ties, Blyth host Whitley Bay, North Shields travel to West Allotment Celtic and Morpeth take on Ashington.
