Goalkeeper Matz Sels has been called up to the Belgium squad for their upcoming fixtures against Spain and Cyprus.

Sels, 24, has started each Sky Bet Championship fixture for the Magpies so far this season.

And he will now link up with Roberto Martinez's side for their friendly with Spain at the Stade Roi Baudouin on Thursday, 1st September, before they travel to Cyprus for a 2018 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, 6th September at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia.

Former Gent stopper Sels has not yet won a full cap for Belgium, but was called up for their Euro 2016 qualifiers against Andorra and Israel last October.

Meanwhile, midfielder Moussa Sissoko has been named in France's squad for their games against Italy and Belarus next month.

Les Bleus face Italy in a friendly on Thursday, 1st September at the Stadio Comunale San Nicola in Bari before heading to the Borisov Arena in Belarus for a 2018 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, 6th September.
