Michael Richardson has extended his loan spell at Accrington Stanley until the beginning of 2014.

The midfielder joined the League Two side last month and has made five starts in all competitions plus one substitute appearance.

He helped James Beattie's side to knock Middlesbrough out of the Capital One Cup and his most recent start came in the same competition against Cardiff on Wednesday night, when he played the full 90 minutes in a 2-0 defeat.

Richardson will now stay at the Store First Stadium until 2nd January.

The 21-year-old has previously had loan spells with Leyton Orient and Gillingham.
