Ayoze Pérez has won the nufcTV Goal of the Season award for his magnificent flicked finish against West Brom.

The Spanish striker guided Daryl Janmaat's low cross beyond Baggies goalkeeper Ben Foster with a deft touch from his right boot.

It was superb improvisation from the former CD Tenerife man and set Newcastle on their way to a 2-0 win at the Hawthorns.

And the goal was a clear winner when nufcTV subscribers were asked to choose their favourite of the 2014/15 campaign earlier this month.

Pérez's flick was shortlisted alongside Jack Colback's St. James' Park strikes against Burnley and Stoke, Rémy Cabella's effort at Hull and Sammy Ameobi's long-ranger in the same game.

Supporter Shaun Pearce from Houghton-le-Spring was picked at random to present Pérez with his trophy before a home game next season.

It will be another gong for the Spain under-21 international's mantelpiece.

In March, he won the mejor deportista tinerfeño de 2014 trophy - awarded to Tenerife's sportsman of the year - at the Asociación de la Prensa Deportiva de Tenerife's annual gala dinner

Last November, the 21-year-old was named as the Best Breakthrough Player and Best Attacking Player in last season's Liga Adelante at the Liga de Fútbol Profesional's awards night, while he was voted as Newcastle's Wonga Player of the Month for December.

Earlier this month, Pérez told nufc.co.uk: "For me, playing in the Premier League was a dream since I was a child and Newcastle United has given me the chance to make this dream come true.

"It has been an unforgettable year and I hope it's just the beginning of something big here in Newcastle.

"Now I'm looking forward next season to seeing the Toon Army in St. James' again, and giving them better moments than this year."
