United boss says Chelsea starlet was a pleasure to work with
By Craig Hope
CHRIS Hughton hopes that Patrick van Aanholt is able to look back on his month-long stay at St.James' Park having played a part in a promotion-winning side.
The Dutch defender signed off from a seven-game stay with victory at Watford on Saturday and, in the dressing room afterwards, the United players and staff took a moment to thank the 19-year-old for his contribution.
"We spoke to him as a group after the game and thanked him for what he has done during his time here," revealed boss Hughton.
"It has been a loan move that has been very successful and has worked both ways.
"He's come here and played every game and has done very well.
"We've managed to fill a void left by Jose Enrique's injury and he has got some good experience.
"We just hope he can look back on his time here as having been part of a side which won promotion.
"He's been a pleasure to work with and we wish him all the best for the future."
