Pardew Positive After International Break

Despite an injury to Fabricio Coloccini, the international break has largely been a help rather than a hindrance to Newcastle according to Alan Pardew

Alan Pardew is positive ahead of Saturday's clash against Liverpool after what has been a good international break for Newcastle United.
After a solid performance against Cardiff almost two weeks ago, the break may have disrupted the potential consistency that the Club could put together but Pardew does not see it that way.
The players that were called up to represent their national side had good experiences, while those that stayed behind "trained very well."
"It gave us a good chance to catch up with those who didn't travel and the group that went away all had pretty decent results," Pardew said.
One negative that the international break brought was the "disappointing" groin injury to captain Fabricio Coloccini, who will miss the game this weekend.
Pardew said: "We'll have to see how it repairs itself over the next few days."
However, the manager doesn't think Coloccini missing out will cause Newcastle too many problems in this weekend's game.
"There's no reason we can't cope with Coloccini's absence," he insisted.
Papiss Cisse got on the scoresheet for Senegal during the week and will now surely be hoping that he can manage a similar performance in the Barclays Premier League.
"Whenever a striker scores it's positive. It's good that he got a goal," he said.
Pardew added: "He got a disappointing result though and on the other side of the coin Cheick (Tiote) got a great result. They've been having a bit of banter and there is still a game to go."
