Gabriel Obertan hopes he can take his impressive Europa League showing into the Premier League on Sunday against Aston Villa.
The winger was United's stand-out player as they booked their place in the group stage of the competition with victory over Greek side Atromitos on Thursday night.
Obertan's pace and direct running was a constant threat as he carved out not only a number of chances for his Magpies teammates but also one or two for himself.
And the former Manchester United man is keen to get some game time and catch the eye again as Villa come to Tyneside this weekend.
"I feel fit, I felt like I had a good rhythm, I ran a lot and I felt like I had some influence on the game," Obertan told nufc.co.uk.
"It was good for my confidence and hopefully I can produce this in the Premier League.
"When I'm on a good day I have my pace to rely on and that makes it hard for defenders. I used it against Atromitos and hopefully I will get some more time against Aston Villa.
"We want three points against them. It will be a hard game but we have prepared well and will be ready for them."
