Football League campaign aims to promote family-friendly atmosphere at SJP
NEWCASTLE United are backing The Football League's 2009/10 Enjoy the Match campaign.
'Enjoy the Match' aims to promote a family-friendly atmosphere at St.James' Park.
Last season delivered a significant increase in the numbers of families attending matches. More than two million fans watched Football League matches with members of their family during 2008/09.
This season, there will be a renewed focus on removing abusive language and aggressive behaviour from family areas with clubs stewarding these parts of grounds.
To kick-off the new campaign, The Football League has released its 2009/10 'Enjoy the Match' advert which will be shown online and on big screens at matches. It features Justin Moorhouse - star of Phoenix Nights and hit film Looking for Eric.

Commenting on the launch of 'Enjoy the Match', Moorhouse said: "When I started going to football the atmosphere was a lot different. The language on the terraces certainly wasn't suitable for kids my age!
"But the 'Enjoy the Match' campaign makes it a lot less daunting for youngsters. And parents can take them along without worrying about swearing and bad behaviour.
"It means that families can just enjoy watching their team, which is what going to the game is all about."
