WHISTLE-MDC-icons 90 mins: It's full-time and Newcastle have claimed a point and a clean sheet. It is their first draw away from home this season. On paper it looks like a decent result, but having hit both posts and the crossbar, as well as creating numerous other opportunities, the Magpies will feel disappointed not to have come away from Carrow Road with a victory.

90 mins: Newcastle are a whisker away from grabbing all three points deep into stoppage time. Shola Ameobi gets the ball onto his left foot and whips a brilliant delivery across the six-yard box. It's crying out for a touch - any touch - just to divert the ball home, but nobody is able to connect and Norwich survive.

90 mins: There will be a minimum of six minutes of added time. Will either side be able to snatch a dramatic winner?

90 mins: An unbelievable point-blank save from Tim Krul preserves Newcastle's clean sheet. Martin Olsson delivers a superb cross which reaches Robert Snodgrass at the far post. The Scot is just a couple of yards out and stoops to head home, but Krul appears from nowhere to somehow block and keep out the effort.

SUB-MDC-icons 87 mins: Another change for Newcastle as Massadio Haidara enters the fray in place of the impressive Sammy Ameobi. The young Academy product has been a real positive of United's evening.

SUB-MDC-icons 84 mins: Gary Hooper is replaced by Alexander Tettey for the home side.

Red-Card-MDC-icons81 mins: There is a double sending off as both Loic Remy and Bradley Johnson are sent off. The French forward won a free-kick as Johnson tugged him back, the pair then engaged in a bit of pushing and shoving before going head-to-head. Johnson stumbled backwards, with players from both sides rushing to get involved. And after some consideration, referee Chris Foy dismissed both players, meaning Remy will miss the next three matches.

76 mins: Gary Hooper sends a close range finish against the top of the crossbar, via a slight deflection off Davide Santon. It's a great chance for the home side.

SUB-MDC-icons 75 mins: Newcastle make their first substitution of the evening as Shola Ameobi comes on for Hatem Ben Arfa. Shola heads straight up front to join Loic Remy as the Magpies switch to a 4-4-2 formation.

SUB-MDC-icons 71 mins: A double change for Norwich as Johan Elmander and Nathan Redmond replace Ricky Van Wolfswinkel and Anthony Pilkington.

67 mins: United are piling on the pressure again and another chance comes and goes. Sammy Ameobi plays in Moussa Sissoko with a fine ball down the left. His cross is inch-perfect onto the forehead of Loic Remy, but the Magpies' leading scorer heads tamely at John Ruddy.

Yellow-Card-MDC-icons 65 mins: Leroy Fer is cautioned for bundling over Hatem Ben Arfa 23 yards out, halting a fine run by the Frenchman. The free-kick is quite central and Ben Arfa curls it over the wall but cannot get the ball to dip back down again in time.

59 mins: Another mazy run from Hatem Ben Arfa and this time he's up-ended right on the edge of the area by Ricky Van Wolfswinkel. Loic Remy stands over the free-kick and curls a brilliant effort against the crossbar. The Magpies have now hit both posts and the crossbar.

Yellow-Card-MDC-icons 58 mins: Moussa Sissoko is the first player into referee Chris Foy's notebook. As Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy claimed a free-kick and tried to start a quick attack, the French midfielder blocked his kick.

53 mins: Hatem Ben Arfa picks up the ball on the edge of the area, tricks his way into the box, gets past Ryan Bennett and then goes down under the defender's challenge. There are big appeals for a penalty but referee Chris Foy is having none of it and waves away the protests.

49 mins: The home side have done more attacking in the opening four minutes of the second half than they did in the entirety of the first period. This time it's Ricky Van Wolfswinkel who pulls the trigger but sees the strike blocked by the body of Steven Taylor.

47 mins: Robert Snodgrass drifts in off the right flank and hits a left-footed shot from distance but scuffs his effort and the ball rolls harmlessly wide.

WHISTLE-MDC-icons 46 mins: There have been no changes from either side at the break as Newcastle get the second half underway.

FIRST HALF UPDATES

Half-time: The sides go in goalless at the break but Newcastle will be wondering how they haven't scored. They peppered the Norwich goal, hitting both posts, but were unable to make the crucial breakthrough.

45 mins: United have a free-kick 20 yards out, which Hatem Ben Arfa curls into the wall before Davide Santon skies the loose ball miles over the top.

45 mins: There will be a minimum of two minutes added on time.

44 mins: They are almost made to pay by the home side as Magpies' goalkeeper Tim Krul is forced into his first action of the evening, getting down to his right to keep out Gary Hooper's low, long-range strike. Mathieu Debuchy completes the clearance.

43 mins: United have created plenty of chances in this first half but taken none, and that continues as Hatem Ben Arfa blazes over the bar unmarked from ten yards. It stems from more good work by Sammy Ameobi, who exchanges passes with Loic Remy, gets to the byline and cuts a great ball back into Ben Arfa's path. But the Frenchman cannot apply the finish.

39 mins: Sammy Ameobi has looked really bright wide on the left and races away from two players before forcing another corner as his cross is blocked. The corner is only half-cleared but Mathieu Debuchy cannot find the target from distance.

34 mins: Loic Remy is down with a facial injury after tussling with Ryan Bennett for a ball over the top. It looks as though the striker may have been caught by the centre-back's knee as Bennett cleared the ball. A groggy Remy is helped back to his feet after a couple of minutes of medical attention and looks set to continue.

25 mins: There's only one team in this and Norwich are thankful to John Ruddy for a good save to keep them level. Hatem Ben Arfa picks up the ball 25 yards out and drills a fierce strike goalwards. It takes a deflection off Sebastien Bassong but the goalkeeper is alert to parry it to safety.

24 mins: Another chance for Newcastle, and they are denied by the woodwork again. This time it is the right-hand post which keeps out Loic Remy, who ran at the home defence before curling an effort past John Ruddy.

21 mins: United continue to knock on the Canaries' door and another dangerous cross almost provides a breakthrough. Loic Remy spies Moussa Sissoko inside the six-yard box and delivers a low ball. It doesn't reach the midfielder but the ball strikes Bradley Johnson before rolling against the post and away.

20 mins: Newcastle are really taking the game to their opponents and almost force an own goal. This time, Sammy Ameobi drives into the left-hand side of the penalty area and sees his cross shanked goalwards by former Magpie Sebastien Bassong. Luckily for the hosts, however, it is straight at John Ruddy.

18 mins: A glorious chance for Loic Remy to break the deadlock. Hatem Ben Arfa splits the home defence with an outstanding pass, releasing Moussa Sissoko down the right. The Frenchman intelligently cuts the ball back into the path of Remy, but his low shot is saved by John Ruddy, who smothers at the second attempt.

17 ,mins: Norwich's best spell so far. Some crisp passing sees the ball worked to Leroy Fer, who takes a touch before firing in a 20 yard effort. His strike takes a deflection, however, and goes behind. The resulting corner is headed to safety by the Magpies' rearguard.

11 mins: Mathieu Debuchy has almost been playing like a right-winger in the opening stages and another foray forward forces a corner, with Martin Olsson putting the ball behind. Davide Santon is on corner-taking duty and his floated effort to the far post is headed behind for another flag-kick.

9 mins: Davide Santon curls the resulting free-kick straight into the wall, the ball eventually finds its way to Mathieu Debuchy, who tries his luck from 30 yards but is unable to hit the target with a rising drive.

8 mins: Loic Remy is tripped right on the edge of the area by Robert Snodgrass. It's a free-kick to the Magpies in a dangerous position.

7 mins: Norwich break at pace and Gary Hooper drives a crossfield pass to Anthony Pilkington. The winger runs at the United defence but his final touch is heavy and the ball just runs out of play for a goal-kick.

3 mins: Moussa Sissoko finds Loic Remy on the edge of the area. The front man has his back to goal and Ryan Bennett in close attention but twists and turns to work a yard of space before curling a right-footed shot narrowly wide. It's a bright start from the visitors.

1 min: Mathieu Debuchy and Sammy Ameobi exchange passes down the right flank. Ameobi finds the full-back inside the Norwich penalty area and Debuchy delivers a dangerous cross, but it is cleared to safety.

WHISTLE-MDC-icons1 min: Norwich take kick-off with Newcastle shooting towards the Norwich & Peterborough Stand in the first half. United are wearing black and white striped shirts, black shorts and black socks, with the Canaries in their traditional yellow and green.
