There are seven changes to Newcastle United's starting line-up for Sunday's Premier League home fixture against Stoke

By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Managing Editor

Manager Alan Pardew has made seven changes to his Newcastle United starting line-up for Sunday's Barclays Premier League fixture at home against Stoke City (3pm kick-off).

The Magpies recorded an impressive goalless draw away at Anzhi Makhachkala on Thursday in the Europa League, and with this match coming just three days later, Pardew has opted to ring the changes.

The only survivors from that fixture in Moscow are goalkeeper Rob Elliot, centre-back Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and midfielders Yohan Cabaye and Moussa Sissoko. In fact, it is the exact same team which started at Swansea City last weekend.

Elliot will be protected by a back four of Mathieu Debuchy, Steven Taylor, Yanga-Mbiwa and Davide Santon at St. James' Park.

Stand-in captain Cabaye will anchor United's midfield alongside Ivorian enforcer Cheick Tiote, allowing the creative trio of Jonas Gutierrez, Sissoko and Yoan Gouffran to supply lone striker Papiss Cisse.

On the substitutes' bench there is a place for 18-year-old Adam Campbell, who could make his Premier League debut if he comes on. The young striker joins Steve Harper, Massadio Haidara, James Perch, Vurnon Anita, Gabriel Obertan and Sylvain Marveaux among the replacements.

Stoke make one change, with Geoff Cameron coming in to replace Michael Kightly. And they include ex-Magpies captain Michael Owen and former Sunderland trio Thomas Sorensen, Dean Whitehead and Kenwyne Jones on their bench.
