Newcastle United 0
Manchester United 4 (Mata 39, 50, Hernandez 65, Januzaj 90+2)

SECOND HALF UPDATES

WHISTLE-MDC-icons90+4mins: It's not been a vintage season for Manchester United but there's been nothing wrong with their away form and their success on the road continues here. Newcastle were on top when Mata curled home a 39th minute free kick and the Spaniard struck again early in the second half before Hernandez sealed the win and Januzaj rubbed salt into the wounds in stoppage time. 90+3mins: Nani hits the side-netting after jinking in from the right, when he probably should have squared the ball.

GOAL-MDC-icons90+2mins - MANCHESTER UNITED GOAL (0-4): For the second weekend in a row, Newcastle concede four. Mata and Januzaj exchange a series of quick passes before the Januzaj sidefoots past Elliot.

90mins: There will be a minimum of four minutes of stoppage time.

SUB-MDC-icons85mins: Shola Ameobi is on for Yoan Gouffran.

84mins: Gosling tees up Haidara to cross and Cisse takes the ball down and shoots only for Lindegaard to somehow keep the ball out. Santon follows up but his drive goes wide. Cisse could have had a hat-trick but for fine goalkeeping by the Reds' shot-stopper.

78mins: None of the visiting defenders close down Ben Arfa, allowing him to drift towards goal and then pull the trigger but he drags his 20-yard shot wide.

75mins: Cisse's cross from the right deflects off Jones and almost falls for Vurnon Anita at the far post, but Lindegaard holds on well.

71mins: Tiote's crossfield ball drops over the head of Nani and falls perfectly for Cisse to hit but his powerful half-volley is pushed away by Lindegaard, who denies the Newcastle number nine for the second time today.

SUB-MDC-icons70mins: Fellaini makes way for Nani in David Moyes' third and final change.

69mins: Tiote muscles past Kagawa but his shot from the edge of the box is well off target.

67mins: Cisse, who has never given up this afternoon, robs Fellaini 22 yards from goal and has a shot but unfortunately it's off target.

GOAL-MDC-icons65mins - MANCHESTER UNITED GOAL (0-3): As play restarts following the substitution, the ball is played to Kagawa who cuts back from the left for Hernandez to touch home a third for Manchester United.

64mins: Red Devils skipper Evra comes off to be replaced by Alexander Büttner. Fletcher takes the armband.

SUB-MDC-icons61mins: Hatem Ben Arfa replaces De Jong, who has held the ball up well but again failed to find the back of the net.

60mins: From the right Shinji Kagawa cuts the ball back for Hernandez, who shoots on the turn but blazes over.

GOAL-MDC-icons50mins - MANCHESTER UNITED GOAL (0-2): Mata makes it 2-0 with his second of the game and this one was much easier than his first. Fabricio Coloccini knocks the ball towards Haidara but there seems to be a lack of communication as both defenders leave it to each other and Hernandez steals in before cutting the ball back for Mata, who takes his time and slots past the exposed Elliot.

WHISTLE-MDC-icons46mins: The visitors get the second period underway. Newcastle are now kicking towards the Gallowgate end.

FIRST HALF UPDATES

WHISTLE-MDC-icons45+2mins: A moment of class from Mata is the difference at half time but Newcastle will argue that the free kick he curled into the top corner six minutes before the break should not have been given. The Magpies have played quite well as will consider themselves unfortunate to be trailing to the visitors' only shot on target. Click here for a half time report.

45mins: There will be two minutes of stoppage time at the end of the first period.

44mins: Javier Hernandez hits a post and it's just as well because the referee would really have been under the microscope had the Mexican scored. His foot was clearly high as he challenged Williamson and as the Newcastle defender fell to the ground, the striker carried on his run and saw his low effort rebound back off the woodwork.

GOAL-MDC-icons39mins - MANCHESTER UNITED GOAL (0-1): The Red Devils take the lead in controversial circumstances. After Tiote and Juan Mata tussle for the ball, Gosling slides in on Darren Fletcher on the edge of the box and Friend awards a free kick. Mata steps up and curls a majestic effort into the top corner but John Carver and the home fans thought Gosling had won the ball in the build-up.

35mins: Newcastle are really playing well now and Santon skips past Patrice Evra on the right before delivering another teasing cross which just flashes across goal without anybody getting a touch.

24mins: Lindegaard makes a superb reaction save to push Cisse's goalbound header over the bar after a great cross from the right by Santon. Newcastle are doing pretty well here and have had the two best opportunities of the game.

22mins: Elliot's long free kick is headed across goal by Mike Williamson and Cisse goes for an overhead kick which just lacks the power to seriously test Anders Lindegaard in the Reds goal.

SUB-MDC-icons18mins: Manchester United are forced into a change as Ashley Young - who had started brightly - comes off with what looks to be a hand injury after an awkward fall. He's replaced by Adnan Januzaj.

16mins: Massadio Haidara flings a throw into the box and De Jong battles gamely to keep play alive, with the ball falling to Cheick Tiote whose half-volley from the edge of the area flies over.

13mins: The Manchester United fans up in Level 7 celebrate as Phil Jones puts the ball in the Gallowgate net but referee Kevin Friend had already blown for a handball by Marouane Fellaini, who had illegally brought the ball down before cracking in a low shot which Elliot parried.

4mins: Rob Elliot's long kick is allowed to bounce and Cisse hits it on the half volley but it's not a clean connection and his effort skews off target.

2mins: Davide Santon whips in an early free-kick from the right and Dan Gosling, making his first top flight start since December 2011, escapes his marker and heads just wide.

WHISTLE-MDC-icons1min: Papiss Cisse and Luuk de Jong take kick-off here at St. James' Park, with Newcastle looking to complete a league double over Manchester United. The visitors are wearing red shirts with white shorts and socks while the Magpies, as usual at home, are in black and white.
