Alan Pardew has made five changes to his Newcastle United starting line-up as they entertain Manchester City in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup.
French full-back Massadio Haidara makes his first appearance of the 2013/14 campaign, having only just recovered from an injury which has kept him sidelined for a number of months.
There are also starts for Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa - who has completed a one-game ban - Vurnon Anita, Shola Ameobi and Papiss Cisse, as the Magpies feature eight internationals players.
Dropping out from Sunday's Tyne-Wear derby defeat at Sunderland are Paul Dummett, Davide Santon, Yohan Cabaye, Hatem Ben Arfa and Loic Remy.
Newcastle will line-up in a 4-4-2 formation at St. James' Park, with goalkeeper Tim Krul behind a defence of Mathieu Debuchy, Mike Williamson, Yanga-Mbiwa and Haidara.
Moussa Sissoko will play wide on the right of United's midfield, with Yoan Gouffran on the opposite flank, and stand-in skipper Cheick Tiote alongside Anita in the middle of the park.
Ameobi and Cisse will form the hosts' attack, and will be looking to fire the Magpies into the quarter-finals of the competition.
Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Remy and Dummett are all among the substitutes' for the cup tie, and are joined on the bench by Rob Elliot, Gabriel Obertan and Sammy Ameobi.
